Belgium is known worldwide for its beers. The small country has more than 800 years of experience: the first monks started to brew behind their abbey walls in the 12th century. This age-old tradition of Trappist beers is still alive today in family breweries all over Belgium.

Roman - Oudenaarde
As the oldest family brewery in Belgium, Brewery Roman is known for its rich assortment of beers. These are brewed one by one in a traditional way, with traditional craftsmanship and a lot of love for the beer and for almost 5 centuries .... Site
Kluiz - Mont de l'Enclus
Kluiz Brewery is located in Anseroeul, a small green village at the foot of the Kluisberg in Belgium. She derives her name from the word Hermit. According to legend, Liedericq, the first count of Flanders and founder of the cities of Lille and Bruges, was born here. Many places still refer to him. Site
De Brabandere - Bavikhove
De Brabandere Brewery can look back on a rich history that started in 1894. Beer lover Adolphe and his son Jozef ensured that the brewery expanded rapidly in no time. The fifth generation came on board in 2013, and the brewery is still a family brewery and one of the largest independent breweries in Belgium to this day. Site
Liefmans - Oudenaarde
The story of Liefmans starts in the 17th century, when Jacobus Liefmans established himself as a brewer in Oudenaarde. The building in the Aalststraat, on the banks of the river Schelde, has been around for more than 300 years. Site
KEUN - Ronse
KEUN is a very small-scale, artisanal brewery, officially recognized since April 2016. Here 200 liters are brewed twice a month: in addition to the fixed beers, also beers in limited edition, special editions and one-off experiments. Site
De Graal - Brakel
Brewery De Graal is a young, artisanal, yet automated, brewery located in Brakel. The brewery of graduated brewer Wim Saeyens has been active since 2002, and has experienced steady growth at that time. Site
Contreras - Gavere
Brewery Contreras is an artisanal family brewery founded in 1818. The original brewery hall (recently restored) dates from the middle of the last century and is unique in its kind. Site
Van den Bossche - Sint-Lievens-Esse
Late last century, in 1897, a certain Arthur Van den Bossche bought a plot of land at the beautiful village square in Sint-Lievens-Esse. Then he could not yet suspect that he would be the founder of a large brewer's family. Currently the 4th generation is also active in the brewery. Site
Brasserie des Légendes - Ellezelles
The Brasserie des Légendes was created in 2006 after a takeover of the Elzeelse Brouwerij by the Reuzenbrouwerij. These two breweries joined forces to further develop their products on the Belgian market and for exports. Because the region is so rich in folklore, they chose the word 'Légendes': the Procession of Ath with its 7 giants and the Witch sabbat in Ellezelles. Site

The roots of Brasserie Dubuisson are far in the past. The brewery can also boast an authenticity that many colleagues envy. It is the oldest brewery in Wallonia. Site
Omer Vander Ghinste - Bellegem
Thanks to more than 120 years of brewing tradition of 5 generations Omer Vander Ghinste, they brew character beers according to authentic recipes, in the traditional way but with the use of the most modern techniques. The brewery hopes to do this for many generations. Site
