Kluiz Brewery is located in Anseroeul, a small green village at the foot of the Kluisberg in Belgium. She derives her name from the word Hermit. The story of Liefmans starts in the 17th century, when Jacobus Liefmans established himself as a brewer in Oudenaarde. The building in the Aalststraat, on the banks of the river Schelde, has been around for more than 300 years.

The Brasserie des Légendes was created in 2006 after a takeover of the Elzeelse Brouwerij by the Reuzenbrouwerij. These two breweries joined forces to further develop their products on the Belgian market and for exports. Because the region is so rich in folklore, they chose the word 'Légendes': the Procession of Ath with its 7 giants and the Witch sabbat in Ellezelles.
